Ellen Underhill of Lingfield, widow, sick 8 Jan 1579/80
to my son Edward Underhill a young sheep; to my son Thomas Underhill five marks (but £1 is of his father's goods remaining in my hands by a letter of administration); to my son Samuel Underhill five marks (and a s Thomas); to my daughter Agnes Underhill £4 (and as Thomas), two candlesticks, a fine white sheet and a little brass pot; to my daughter Clemence Underhill, Mary Underhill and Elizabeth Underhill five marks each (and as Thomas); to my husband's daughter Joan a hook seamed sheet which was her own mother's; to my husband's son Peter Underhill a two year old bullock; to my four daughters and sons Thomas and Samuel a pewter platter each; all to my children at marriage or 20; residue to my sons Richard Underhill and Edward Underhill, execs.
