The following is a transcription of the will provided to me and made by John F Howes - March 2013

In the name of god amen the seavententh day of March one thousand six hundred and nyne I Ffrancis Weekeing the elder of Cowden in the county of Kente, taylor, weake in body but of perfecte memory prayse be to god doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following; that is to say ffirst I commend my soule to god my maker and redeemer with the assured ffaith and hope of salvation thereof through the only merritts of my crucified Saviour Jesus Christ and preparing my body to be committed to the earth from whence it came at the will and pleasure of the same my god; I give unto the poore of the parrishe of Cowden aforesaid sixe shillings and eight pence to be distributed amongst them ay my buriall at the discretion of myne overseers;
Item I give unto Mr Steere the minister of Lingfeilde in Surrey six shillings and eight pence for his paines in delivering the word of god at my funerall.
Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas my sonne the featherbed I use to ly upon, one feather boulster two feather pillowes, a payre of pillowberes, one coverlet, two blanketts, one fine parye od sheetes and one payre of courser sheetes and one cheste called his grandfather cheste:
Item I give unto my said sonne Thomas thirty pounds to be payed to myne overseers hereafter named in this my last will to be paid to him by them at the ffeaste day of the Nativitie of our Lord next after his full age of one and twenty yeares;
item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth and Joane my daughters  that is to say to either of them twenty pounds to be payed to them within one quarter of a yeare next after my decease: And if it shall fortune either of my saide daughters to die before that tyme  then it is my will that the portion of her soe dying shallbe then paid to the other surviving;
Item I give unto the said Elizabeth and Joane my daughters that is to say either of them three payre of sheetes which they now have in their possession.
Item I give more unto the said same my daughters two other payer of sheetes one payer of pillowcoats, one dozen of table napkines one table cloathe and one towel;
Item I give unto Mary my daughter five pounds to be payed within one quarter of a yeare next after my decease:
Item I give unto Agnes the daughter of my sister Margaret Cheeseman twenty shillings to be payde within one month next after my decease;
All the residue of my goods and chattels whatsoever unbequeathed, my detts, legacies and funerall expenses paide, disbursed and discharged I give and bequeath unto Ffrancis my eldest sonne whome I make and ordaine and hartily praye my exr.
Wellbeloved ffrendes Edward Swaysland and John Knight the younger of Cowden aforesaid to be myne overseers to see that my last will and testament well and truly performed to whome I give towards their paines to be taken in that behalf ffive shillings a peece and my will is that all other their necessaries, costes and charges shall be borne and paid them by my said executor which shallbe at about this my will;
And hereby I doe revoke all former wills made by me;
In witness wherof to this my last will and testament I have sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written in the presence of their persons vidshiet Robert Hooley, John Knight, Edward Swaysland, and Richard Collyn his marke.
