In the name of God Amen the seaventh day of January one thousand six hundred thirty two I Henry Payne of Ardingly in the County of Sussex glover? being in yeares and somewhat weake in body but of good and pfecte remembrance (thancks bee given to God) doe make & ordeyne this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following, vizt.  First I bequeath my soule unto Almighty God who hath redeemed the same by the most precious bloud of his deare sonne Jesus Christ my Lord and onely Saviour.  And my body I bequeath unto the earth undoubtebly beleiving that the same shalbee raysed to glory at the generall resurection. 
Item I bequeath and give unto my daughter Joane wife of Roger Botting five shillings of lawfull money of England to bee payd wthin six monethes after my decease. 
Item I give unto my daughter Suzan wife of John Paltocke? five shillings of like lawfull money of England to be payd wthin six monethes after my decease. 
Item I give unto Ellinor the daughter of Roger Botting aforesaid the coverlet that usually lyeth on my bed. 
Item I give unto Henry the sonne of my sonne Richard Payne my joyned cupbord and my great joyned chest. 
The rest of all my goods money and estate whatsoever (my debts payd and the chardges of my buryall dischardged) I give and bequeath unto Richard Payne my sonne whome I make and ordeyne executor of this my last will and Testament. 
And I doe hereby revoke all former Wills by mee heretofore by mee made to all intents and purposes whatsoever. 
In witnes hereof I have hereto set my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written.  Henry Payne his marke.

Proved before Anthony? Hugget, Clerk, AM, Surrogate 10th October 1633 by Richard Payne the son & executor named in the said Will
