In the name of God amen The Tenth day of February Anno domini 1602 I Marye Midmore of Chiddingly with in the diocese of Chichester beinge sicke in bodye but of good & perfect remembrance thancks bee given unto God Doe make & ordeyne this my last will and Testament in manet and forme followinge First I Commend my bodye to the earthe whence it was taken and my soule to god that gave yt beleavinge assuredlye to be saved onelye by faithe in Jesus Christe
Imprimis I will and give unto my cozen Joane Heysman my best hatt
Item my will and mynde is that my mother Maudlyne Crowche shall have all that my howse and foure acres of land duringe her naturall life
and after her decease I will and give the said howse and foure acres of lande unto my brother Nathaniell Crowche and to the heyres of his bodye lawfully begotten
Provided alwayes that the said Nathaniell Crowche shall paye out of the said howse and lande unto my twoe sisters Rebecka and Susanna Crowche fortye shillings of lawfull English money A peece when they come to the ages of one and Twenty yeares And yf any one of them departe this life before shee come to the age of one and Twenty yeares one to bee anothers heyre
And further I will that the said Nathaniell Crowche shall paye unto William Crowche my brother three pounds of lawfull English money to be paid unto him when hee cometh to the age of one and Twentye years
Item further my will and mende ys that if my brother Nathaniell Crowche depart this life without heyres of his bodye lawfullye begotten Then I will and give the foresaid howse and foure acres of land to my brother William Crowche and to the heyres of his bodye lawfullye begotten
And hee the said William to paye or cause to bee paid the foresaid sommes of Forty shillings above given yf the fore sayd Nathaniell have not payd yt to his twoe sisters abovesaid
And further my will and mynde ys that yf the said William Crowche depart this life without heyres of his bodye lawfullye begotten Then I will and give the said howse and foure acres of lande unto my twoe sisters Rebecka and Susanna Crowche to bee equally devided betweene them and to the heyres of theire bodyes lawfullye begotten for ever
Item I will and give unto Alice Heysman my Cozen my best gowne
Item I will and give unto my cozen Marye Heisman my best quoyse(?)
Item all the rest of my goods not given nor bequeathed I will and give unto my father in lawe William Crowche whome I ordeyne and make my whole Executor of this my last will and Testament
Alsoe I request and desire my unckle Thomas Heisman to bee overseer of this my last will and Testament and then I desire the Lord to be mercifull unto mee into whose hands I commend my soule and bodye
