The following is a transcription of the will provided to me and made by Chris Allen

This is the last Willand Testament of me William Feldwick the Elder of Edenbridge in the County of Kent Yeoman made published and declared the seventeenth day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seven. First I order and direct that all my just debts funeral expenses and the expenses of the Probate of this my Will be paid and discharged by my Executor hereinafter named out of the Remainder of my Estate hereinafter bequeathed to him
And I give and bequeath unto my Son William Feldwick all my Wearing Apparel to be delivered to him by my Executor as soon as convenient after my decease let my said Son bring in other ? before provided for.
And my Daughter Ann Ray I have also before provided for.
And also I give and bequeath to my two Granddaughters and Grandson namely Jane Groombridge Lydia Groombridge and George Groombridge Daughters and Son of my Daughter Priscilla deceased each the Sum of Ten pounds of lawful Money current in Great Britain to be paid to them by my Executor at their respective Ages of twenty one years or Day of Marriage which shall first happen without Interest.
And if any or other of them my said Grandchildren so happen to die under the Age of Twenty one years or Day of Marriage respectively and without leaving lawful Ifsue of his or her or their Body or Bodies so Dying then the Legacy or Legacies of him her or them so Dying to go to their Survivor or Survivors his her or their Executors or Administrators share and share alike.
Also I give and bequeath unto my two Grandsons William Bennet and Thomas Bennet Sons of my Daughter Elizabeth deceased the Sum of twenty seven pounds each of like lawful Money to be paid to them by my said Executor at their respective Ages of twenty one years and my Will and meaning is that if any out of my said two last mentioned Grandsons do happen to die under the Age of twenty one years unmarried and without leaving lawful Ifsue of his Body dying then I order that the Legacy of him so dying shall go to the Survivor his Executor or Administrators.
Also I give and bequeath unto my Son in Law William Tidy One Guinea to be paid to him by my Executor at the End of Twelve Months next after my decease.
Also I give and bequeath unto all the Children of the said William Tidy which he had by my Daughter Mary deceased One Guinea each to be paid to them by my Executor at their respective Ages of Sixteen Years.
And also I give and bequeath unto my Son Joseph Feldwick all the rest residue and remainder of my ready Money Securities for Money Goods Chattels Effects and Personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever of what nature or kind and which I have not hereinbefore otherwise ordered and disposed of to hold the same and every part thereof to him my said Son Joseph Feldwick his Executors Admons and Afsigns forever.
And lastly I do make constitute and appoint my said Son Joseph Feldwick sole Executor of this my said last Will and Testament and I do revoke and make void all and every other Will and Testament by me at any time heretofore made.
In Witnefs whereof I have to this my said last Will and Testament (Contained in two leaves of paper) set my hand to the first sheet and to this second and last sheet my hand and seal the Day and Year in the first sheet first written – W.Feldwick –
Signed sealed published and delivered by the said William Feldwick the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our hands As Witnefs thereto each Word & ? being first wrote on an Erasure Nich’s Gainsford – Will’m Saxby.

 

THIS WILL was proved at London on the third Day of January in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and nine before the Worshipful Charles Coote Doctor of Laws and Surrogate of the Right Honourable Sir William Wynt? Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commifsary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Joseph Feldwick the Son of the Deceased and sole Executor named in the said Will to whom Administration was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased having been first sworn Duly to administer.
