In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Feldwick of Westhoathly in the County of Sufsex a Yeoman being weak in body but of Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory praised be God Do make and declare my last Will and Testament concerning the Disposition of my Temporal Estate in manner and form following.
First I Will and Direct that my Executors hereinafter named do pay and discharge all my just Debts and Funeral Expenses.
I Give and bequeath all my Goods Chattells ready moneys and personal Estate whatsoever unto my wife Jane Feldwick and to my Son William equally to be divided between them Share and Share alike But my Will and meaning is neverlefs that my said Wife and Son William do and shall out of my said personal Estate bring up Educate and Maintain my youngest Children Joseph John Priscilla and Elizabeth until they severally Attain their respective Ages of One and Twenty years or Marry.
And Further my Will and meaning is that my said wife and Son William do and shall pay out of my said personal Estate unto such of my Children as are hereafter mentioned the Several Legacys or Sums of money hereinafter given and bequeathed to them (that is to say) unto my Son Thomas Feldwick the Sum of Forty pounds within Six Months next after my Decease and to my Sons Joseph and John and to my Daughter Priscilla the like Sum of Forty pounds apiece such Legacys to be paid to my said Sons Joseph and John at their respective Ages of One and Twenty years and to my Daughter Priscilla at her Age of One and Twenty years or days or day of Marriage.
And in case any or one of my said Children shall happen to die before his her or their Legacy or Legacys shall become due and payable in such Case I give the Legacy of him her or them so dying to and amongst the Survivors Share and Share alike and if but one of them shall Survive then to such Survivor.
Also I Give and devise All that my Annuity or yearly rent Charge of Four pounds and Ten Shillings a year Yielding and payable out of certain Lands lying and being at or near Turners Hill in the Parish of Worth in the said County of Sufsex now in the occupation of John Allingham unto my said wife Jane Feldwick To hold to her for and during the Term of her Natural life and from and after her Decease I Give and Devise One Moiety of the said Annuity or rent thereon unto my Daughter Ann Feldwick and to her heirs and Afsigns for ever And the other Moity thereof I Give and Devise unto my Daughter Elizabeth and to her Heirs and Afsigns for ever.
And I make and constitute my said wife and my said Son William joint Executors of this my Will hereby revoking all former Wills by me made.
In Witnefs whereof I the said Thomas Feldwick have to this my Will Sett my hand and Seal this fifteenth day of October in the two and twentieth year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the faith and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty eight the mark and Seal of Thos Feldwick – Signed Sealed published and declared By the said Thomas Feldwick the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence have Subscribed our Names as Witnefses thereto Jno Dungate – John HenleyRichd Dungate.

 The Will of Thomas Feldwick of Westhoathly within the Archdeaconry of Lewes was Proved the Second day of May in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty two Before the Reverend N. Edward Lund Clerk Surrogate – and is Forth Upon the Oath of Jane Feldwick and William Feldwick Executors in this said Will named Within the Administration of the Goods & Estate(?) Committed They being first Sworn well and faithfully to Administer the same and soforth.


The following is a copy of the original 'Will' I obtained from the Lewes Will Microfilm
