The following is a transcription of the will made by Dave Woolven - June 2006

In the name of God Amen the fifth day of August in the yeare of our Lord God one thousand six hundred and fifty two I Stephen Dungate of East Grinsted in the County of Sussex yeoman being sicke in body but in perfect minde and memory thankes be given to Almighty God doe make and ordaine this my last will and testament in writing in manner and forme following.  First I comend my soule into the hands of Almighty God my creator and to his sonne Jesus Christ my blessed redeemer. 
Item I give and bequeath unto my eldest sonne John Dungate the sume of one hundred pounds of lawfull English mony to be paid unto him by my executor hereafter named within three monthes next after my decease provided allwayes that my said sonne John doe permitt and suffer my youngest sonne Joseph Dungate peaceably and quietly ymediately after my decease to hold and inioy my freehold lands to him and his heires for ever.  And if my said sonne John shall refuse to suffer my said sonne Joseph to enioy my freehold lands as aforesaid then I further will and bequeath that my said sonne John shalbe paid but only the sume of tenn pounds in full satisfaction of the sume of one hundred pounds before by me to him by these presents given and bequeathed. 
Item I give and bequeath unto Ann my loveing wife all that my bed and bedstedle as now it is and all things thereunto belonging that now I lye upon and nyne paire of sheetes to be delivered unto her by my executor. 
Item I give and bequeath unto my second sonne Stephen Dungate the sume of tenn pounds of lawfull English mony to be paid unto him by my executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease. 
Item I give and bequeath unto my two eldest daughters Ann and Sara the sume of fifteene pounds a peece to be paid unto them by my executor hereafter named within one yeare next after my decease. 
Item I give and bequeath unto my youngest daughter Elizabeth Dungate the sume  of fourescore pounds of lawfull English mony to be paid unto her by my executor hereafter named within two monthes next after my decease. 
Item I give and bequeath unto my youngest sonne Joseph Dungate all that my parcell of freehold land called by the name of the Woods? Riddens conteyning by estimacon five acres lying in the parish of Eastgrinsted aforesaid to have and to hold to my said sonne Joseph Dungate and to his heires and assignes for ever. 
Item I give and devise to each of my three daughters Ann, Sara and Elizabeth two paire of hempen sheetes a peece to be delivered unto them by my executor immediatly after my decease.  All the rest of my goods and chattells yet unbequeathed my debts and legacies being first paid and my funerall discharged I give and bequeath unto my said sonne Joseph Dungate whom I make and constitute executor of this my last will and testament. 
And I doe make my loveing freinds Henry Faulconer of Eastgrinsted aforesaid yeoman and Edward Lucas of East Grinsted aforesayd yeoman overseers of this my last will and testament to see the same performed.  In wittnes wherof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare first above written.

This Will was proved at London before John Exton, Doctor of Laws, Surrogate of Sr Nathaniel Brent, Knight and also Doctor of Laws, Master or Keeper of the Prerogative Court the 26th day of August 1652 by the oath of Joseph Dungate executor named in the said Will to whom was comitted administration of all and singular the goods chattells and debts of the said deceased hee being first legally sworne well and truly to administer the same
