The following is a transcription of the will made by Dave Woolven - July 2006

Dungate spinster 1666
In the name of God Amen I Sarah Dungate of Eastgrinsted in the County of Sussex spinster being sick in body but of pfect memory praysed be God doe make & ordayne this my last Will & Testament in maner & forme following that is to say.  First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almightie God my maker hopeing assuredly through his mercy & the onely merits of Jesus Christ my saviour & redeemer to be made ptaker of life everlasting & my body to be buried in the church yard of Eastgrinsted aforesaid.  Item I give to the poore people of the pish of Eastgrinsted aforesaid twenty shillings to be distributed amongst them on the day of my buriall. 

Item I give to all my brothers & sisters twelve pence a peece. 
Item I give & bequeath to the five children of my brother Joseph Dungate the some of fifty pounds of lawfull money of England to be equally devided amongst them & to be paid unto them wthin six monethes next after the decease of John Dungate my eldest brother & if either of them happen to dye before the portion shall grow due, the survivors or survivor to have the portion of the deceaseds. 
Item I give & bequeath to John Dungate & Stephen Dungate the two sonnes of my said brother John Dungate the some of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto them wthin six monethes next after the decease of the said John Dungate their father & if either of them dye before it shall grow due the portion of the deceased I give to the survivor of them. 
Item I give & bequeath to my said brother John Dungate the yearly some of five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him by my executor hereafter named qt the two usuall feasts or termes in the year that is to say, the feast of thannutiacon of the blessed Virgine Mary & St Michaell tharchangell by even & equall payments in or at the now dwelling house of the above named Joseph Dungate scituate in Eastgrinsted aforesaid & the first payment to be & begin at the feast of St Michaell tharchangell wch shall next happen after my decease. 
Item I give to Henry Faulconer & Sarah Faulconer the children of my brother in law Henry Faulconer the some of tenne pounds a peece of lawfull money of England to be paid unto them wthin six monethes next after the decease of my said brother John Dungate & if either of them dye before it grow due the survivor to have the portion of the deceased. 
Item I give & bequeath to Elizabeth the eldest daughter of my brother Stephen Dungate the some of five pounds of lawfull money of England & five pounds more to be equally devided amongst the rest of his children & to be paid unto them wthin six monethes next after the decease of the said John Dungate my brother & if either of them happen to dye before it grow due the survivor or survivors to have the portion of the deceased.
 Item I give & bequeath to Edward Nycoll the onely sonne of my brother in law Edward Nycoll the some of twenty pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto him wthin six monethes next after the decease of his mother Anne Nycoll my sister & I give to the said Anne my sister twenty shillings of? the year out of the interest of the said twenty pounds during her naturall life. 
Item I give to Mary Jenner being one of my kindred the some of five pounds of lawfull money of England to be paid unto her at her age of one & twenty years or day of mariage wch shall first happen & five shillings to be paid her yearly for the interest thereof. 
Item I give to be disposed on my buriall to see me decently buried the some of nyne pounds of lawfull money of England.  Item all the rest of my goods chattells money & household stuffe whatsoever unbequeathed my debts legacies funerall expences & pbate of this my Will being paid discharged & pformed I give & bequeath to the afore named Joseph Dungate my youngest brother whome I doe make sole executor of this my last Will & Testament. 
In witnes whereof I the said Sarah Dungate have caused this my Testament & last Will to be made conteyneing almost two sheets of paper & have to either sheete sett my hand & fixed my seale at the topp the seaventeenth day of January Anno Dni 1666 in the eighteenth yeare of the Raigne of o’r Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the grace of God of England Scotland France & Ireland King defender of the faith &c
Item my further will & meaning is before then sealing hereof & I doe hereby give & bequeath one bedticke & bolster ticke & two pillow ticks & two payre of sheetes to John Dungate the eldest sonne of my eldest brother John Dungate afore named. 
And I doe give five peeces of pewter wch is at my brother in law Henry Faulconers house to be equally devided betwixt the children of the said Henry Faulconer. 
And I doe give to the afore named Sarah Faulconer my gold ring & silver bodkin.  And all my weareing app’ell I give & bequeath to the afore named Ann Nycoll my sister and to Robert Payne the sonne of Willm Payne deceased I give tenne shillings  to be paid unto him wthin six monethes next after my decease. 
Item I give to Elizabeth Winchester five shillings to be paid unto her wthin six monethes next after my decease.  Item I give to John Burley five shillings to be like wise paid him wthin six monethes next after my decease.  The marke of Sarah Dungate
