The following is a transcription of the will made by Dave Woolven - June 2006

In the name of God Amen I John Dungate of Westhoathly in the County of Sussex farmer being sick in body but in pfect memory (the Lord be praysed) ordaine this my last Wyll and Testament in manner and forme following vizt.  Imprimis I give and bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God my creator and redeemer with whome I hope to have a ioyfull resurrection.  And my body to be buryed in the church yard of Westhoathly at the discretion of my executrixes. 
Item I give unto my brother Thomas Dungate and unto my sister Katheren Chapman and unto my coson Thomas Dungate that lyveth with me and unto my coson John Dungate my brother Thomas Dungate sonns. 
And also unto Mary Dungate my brothers daughter and unto Joane Willat and Anne Willat to each of them twenty shillings a peece to be payd to each of them within one yeare and a halfe after my decease. 
Item my messuage barnes buyldings lands p’misses with all and every there appurtences lying and being in Easte Grinsted called Crow Feild conteining by estimacon twenty acres of land more or less I give & bequeath unto my daughter Jane and unto hir heires for ever.  And yf shee happen to dye without heires of hir owne body then my meaning and wyll is to give yt to my brother Thomas and his heires for ever. 
Item all my goods cattells chattells creddyts stock tanyards  whatsoev’r after my debts legacyes and funerall expense being discharged I give and bestow unto my loving wyffe and unto my daughter Jane whom I make executrixes of this my last Wyll and Testament revoking all former Wylls.
Item I desier my coson John Hamlyn and Thomas Dungate my kynsman to be overseers of this my last Wyll and Testament.
In wytnesse whereof I hereunto sett my hand and seale this thyrd day of August in the yeare of owr Lord one thousand six hundred fyfty and twoe.

 This Wyll was proved att London the fowrteenth day of Septemb’r one thousand sixe hundred fyfty and twoe before Doctor Exton, Surrogate to Sr Nathaniel Brent, Knt, Doctor of Lawes and Master of the Prerogative Courte &c by the oath of Anne the relict and Jane Dungate daughter executrixes to the deceased to whom was comitted administracon &c they being sworne truly to administer
