In the name of God Amen I Richard Daniel of the parish of Shipley beinge sicke in body but of good and pfect memory thanks be given unto god therefore doe ordaine and make this my last will and testament the twenteth day of february 1640 in manner and forme followinge
First I bequeath my soule into the hands of Almighty God expectinge salvation by my saviour and redeemer Jesus Christ and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Shipley Item I give to the poore of the parish of Shipley five shillings to be paid wthin one one month after my decease
Item I give to my fower children John Edward Mary and Judith fower and twenty peices of pewter to be indifferently devided
Item I give to my son John one brasse pott to my son Edward one iron pott twoe and thirty shillinges and twoe ewes wth their lambes to my daughter Mary one iron kittle wth one iron posnett and to my daughter Judith one brasse kittle wth one ioyninge chest
Item I give more to my son John one ioyned chest wch stands in the parlour and to my son Edward one chest wch is in the lodginge chamber
Item whereas forty pound was allowed by the court of Chichester to the children of my predecessor** Thomas Parsons my will is that it be paid unto the said children according to the order of the Court by my Executors in trust hereafter named
Item I intreat my beloved freinds Richard Cappe John Daniel William Daniel and Andrew Daniel to be my Executors in trust to whome I give full power and authority to receive into their custody my lease dwellinge goods and chattles moveable and immoveable and to sell to the best profitt and advantage for my fower children John Edward Mary and Judit to whome my will is that the said monyes wch shall thereby raised to be equally devided amonge my foresaid children and my daughter Mary’s part to be paid wthin six months after my decease the others when they shall come to the full age of one and twenty yeares adn my will is that if either of my childdren happen to dye before the said terme of yeares that then his or her portion to be equally devided amonge the survivinge
Item I give to Robert Swanwicke minister* tenn shillinges
In wittness whereof I hereunto sett my hand and seale the day and yeare above written / Signum Richardi Daniel R /
Sealed and published to be my last will in the psence of Roberti Swanwicke clerici John Hill Edward Holden
