The following is a transcription of the will made by Jane Wicks:

In the name of god amen, the thirde daye of Julye A D one thowsande five hundrethe fowerscore and six. I Richard Browne of the parishe of Maresfeld, beinge sicke but of good and perfecte memorye, thanks be unto god, doe ordeine this my laste will and testament in manner and forme following. First I bequthe my sowle Allmightye God and my bodye unto the earthe.
Item I will unto William Browne his children, two kine of coller red with white upon the forehead and Wylliam Day and Bartholmewe Cruttenden shall have the puttinge oute of them until the children come to xxj yeares of age.
Item I will unto my brother Thomas his children, to either of them x s to be paid unto them at the end of one yeare next after my decease.
Item I will unto my wife one blacke cowe.
Item I will and ordeine my brother William Browne to be my whole Executor, to whome I geve the reste of my goodes, my debts beinge paied
and William Dawes and John Fowle my overseers of this my wyll,
present at the making hereof Bartholmewe Cruttenden, William Dawes, John Fowle, Thomas Goldinge, with others.
