Thomas Stripp & Emily Bones were not one of my direct ancestors but they are related to me as later indirect generations of a direct ancestor.

Key Dates:

Thomas Stripp (Strip) was baptised on 2nd March 1792 in East Grinstead, Sussex, the son of Francis Stripp (& Elizabeth) who was the son of William Stripp 1715 & Elizabeth Underhill. He possibly married Emily Bones in about 1822. Thomas died in about February 1866 in Godstone RD, Surrey ('aged 75').

Emily Bones birth deatils are not known.Emily probably died prior to 1841

Thomas & Emily had three children.
  1. Richard Stripp (Strip) was baptised on 4th January 1824 in Godstone, Surrey (son of Thomas & Emma). He possibly married Elizabeth Barnard in about November 1846 in East Grinstead RD. Sussex. Elizabeth was born on 10th October 1824 in Lingfield, Surrey, the daughter of Newman & Mary Barnard. Elizabeth died in about February 1878 ('aged 53') and Richard died in about Novemberr 1893 (aged 69') both in Godstone RD, Surrey. Richard & Elizabeth had nine children.
    1. George Henry Stripp was born in about November 1847 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
    2. James Stripp was born in about May 1850 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD). He died in about November 1914 in Godstone Rd, Surrey (' aged 64').
    3. Mary Ann Stripp was born in about November 1851 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
    4. Thomas Stripp was born in about May 1853 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
    5. Richard Stripp was born in about February 1855 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
    6. Arthur Stripp was born in about August 1856 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD). He married Annie and had at least one child (Alice)
    7. Esther Stripp (Hester) was born in about May 1859 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
    8. Caleb Stripp was born in about May 1861 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
    9. Charles Stripp was born in about May 1866 possibly in Godstone, Surrey (Godstone RD)
  2. Thomas Stripp (Strip) was born on 9th August 1826 in Godstone, Surrey and was baptised on 3rd September 1826 in Pains Hill Chapel, Oxted, Surrey (a small Independent Evangelical Church, next to Limpsfield Common).
  3. Harriet Stripp (Strip) was born on 26th September 1829 possibly in Horne, Surrey and was baptised as an adult on 13th May 1858 in Godstone, Surrey.

  1. There were numerous differant spellings of "Stripp" in the parish registers eg (Strip, Stripp, Strype, Stripe, Streape, Strape, Streap). 'Streape' tended to be used up to about 1800, 'Strip' was then normally used to about 1840 and then 'Stripp' became the standard.
