Verification & Concerns Returns to 'Top of Page'

  1. It is assumed that the father was also born in Leeds but there is no confirmation of this. He may have just moved there.
  2. There were no other James Speight's born around this time in Leeds. The birth date is consistent with age given in census (date range 1799-1803: 5 year range on census age)
  3. 1841 census shows James 40, Hannah 45, James 14 and Allas (presumed to be Alice) 10 . James & Hannah do not appear on the 1861 census
