John Browne (1656) & Alice

Border
General History

John Brown & Alice were not one of my direct ancestors but they are probably related to me as later indirect generations of a direct ancestor. They probably descended from William Brown & Magdalene Elsick of Horley, Surrey. but the exact link has not yet been found. They are part of what I term the West Mid-Sussex Browne's based around Charlwood, Horley, Horsham & Ifield.

Key Dates:

John Browne birth deatils are not known, but he was possibly born in about 1650. He married Alice and they had nine children.

  1. The details relating to Abraham Browne may not be correct. The children were born in Titsey which is a fair distance from Horne. The birth details of an Abraham cannot be found and the children shown of Abraham 1750 may be related to another Abraham (see Thomas Browne 1630)
  2. There is an error here in that Archive-3 refers in 1718 to a Benjamin Brown Senior & a Benjamin Brown Junior. I only show one Benjamin and there are none alive on the earlier ancestry page. Also, Archive -1 refers in 1673 to a Benjamin Brown. I am lacking a Benjamin
