Verification & Concerns Returns to 'Top of Page'

  1. Athough the details of the individual entries are correct, and the children are born to the named parents, a rigorous analysis has not yet been undertaken to ensure that the correct family heads are with the appropriate children (ie if there was a choice of father's called 'William' the wrong one may have been used). Therefore this structure should only be viewed as indicative.
  2. In general the family name BROWNE was used up to about 1700 and then BROWN became standard
  3. SxG- Source 1 has a number of errors identified
    1. All dates shown between 01/01 and 24/03 up to year 1750 usually have the year shown as that of the previous year.
    2. There are some occasional slight date errors-. a) Mary, daughter Joseph, son of Thomas, shown as baptised 29/10/1743 instead of 23/10/1743,
    3. Shows burial, marriage and children of John 1676 (Ref child 1) whereas they are burial, marriage and children of John son of Joseph Brown 1659.
