John Payne were one of my 12th generation ancestors.

Key Dates:

John Payne was probably born on about 1556 in West Hoathly, Sussex. He was the son of John Payne & Joan Infield. He later lived at Stonelands in West Hoathly, Sussex. He was Executor to his father's 'Will' of 1582. He died on 21st May 1602 (see Archives-PM Inquisition). At his death he owned sixty acres called or known by the name of Stoneland Breaches ( worth annually thirty shillings and four pence) and also a parcel of land (sixty acres) called Long Crofte or Simmes Croftes (worth annually six shillings and eight pence), both in West Hoathly, Sussex.

Thomas Edward
  1. Thomas Payne was probably born on 17th June 1601 in West Hoathly, Sussex (see Archives-PM Inquest). He married Elizabeth Dungate. Details of Thomas Payne & Elizabeth Dungate are shown separately as they are direct ancestors.
  2. Edward Payne was probably born in about 1602 probably in West Hoathly, Sussex. He was overseer to his brother Thomas's 'Will' of 1628.
