Thomas Infield (c1475)

Border
General History

Thomas Infield were one of my 15th generation ancestors.

Key Dates:

Thomas Infield birth details are unknown, but he was possibly born around 1475, possibly in West Hoathly, Sussex. He was "feoffee" to Richard Mascall alias Michelborne. He was maybe possibly descended from the Innyngfield's of Surrey who were a branch of the Haningfield's of Essex.

The Infields were fairly well off even in the 1520s. In the "lay subsidy rolls" for 1524/25 in the Hundred of Strete he was shown as Thomas Ennefeld (shown as Ingfeld in 1525) and as being taxed on assets worth £20.
